Help With Choosing Your Primary Trade and Secondary Trades |
|
Select your main trade according to what you do best, what is easiest or most cost effective for you to do. If you do more than one type of work, enter those as well as secondary trades. There are several strategies you can use if you are a person who provides multiple trades and services, such as a handyman. When the customer sees the results page after they have entered the questions relevant to their project, they will be able to see by looking at your profile if the service is something you do primarily or as a secondary service. If you offer several trades with services all at the same skill level, you may want to strategically think about which one costs you less time and money to perform and use that one as your primary trade. Or, you may want to list your primary service based on what you find your competition to be in the service area you are in. If you are a painter/drywaller and you find that most of your competition in your service area for drywall installation are handymen, you may want to list yourself as primarily a drywaller rather than a painter. That way, customers know that you are a drywaller and it is primarily what you do for a living. |
